The highlight is the Gulmarg Gondola — Asia's highest cable car — which whisks you to the snowfields of Apharwat Peak (supplement cost). The mountain views are simply staggering. Return to Srinagar by evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 03 :

Sonmarg Day Trip — Glaciers & Golden Meadows

The drive east along the Sindh River valley to Sonmarg — the Meadow of Gold — is one of Kashmir's most cinematic road journeys. At 2,740 metres, Sonmarg is ringed by snow-capped Himalayan peaks and threaded with wildflower meadows and rushing streams.

Check out after breakfast for a 150-km scenic drive to Pahalgam, the Valley of Shepherds, passing through the saffron fields of Pampore, a famous bat-making workshop, and apple orchards draping the hillsides. En route, a detour to Drang Frozen Waterfall is available by union vehicle (supplement cost).

Pahalgam sits at the confluence of the Lidder and Sheshnag rivers. Local union vehicles take you to Betaab Valley, Aru Valley, and Chandanwari — each more beautiful than the last (supplement cost). Dinner and overnight stay in Pahalgam.
