Day 02 :

Khatu Shyam Ji & Salasar Balaji | Sacred Day Pilgrimage

After breakfast, depart for a full-day sacred pilgrimage to two of Rajasthan’s most revered temples. The first stop is Khatu Shyam Ji, located approximately 80 km from Jaipur in the Sikar district. The temple of Shyam Baba — revered as the Haare Ka Sahara (the support of the defeated) — draws millions of devotees from across India who believe in his miraculous compassion. The atmosphere of faith, the sound of bhajans, and the fragrance of flowers and incense create an experience that touches the heart of every visitor.

From Khatu Shyam Ji, continue approximately 65 km to Salasar, where the sacred Salasar Balaji temple enshrines a self-manifested image of Lord Hanuman. Salasar Balaji is one of the most powerful Hanuman shrines in all of Rajasthan — the intensity of devotion here is profound, and the continuous aarti and bhajans fill the entire town with spiritual energy. Jaipur to Pushkar | Brahma Temple & Sacred Lake

After breakfast, depart for Pushkar — approximately 145 km from Jaipur, the drive takes you through the Aravalli foothills and into one of India’s most ancient and sacred pilgrimage towns. Pushkar is unique in all the world — it is home to the only major temple dedicated to Lord Brahma, the creator of the universe, and its sacred lake is believed to have been formed from a lotus petal that fell from Brahma’s hand.

Visit the Brahma Temple, its distinctive red pinnacle visible from across the town, and receive the divine blessings of the Creator. Then descend to Pushkar Lake, where 52 bathing ghats surround the sacred waters — performing a ghat ritual here is considered one of the most spiritually significant acts for Hindu pilgrims. Temple & Pilgrimage Etiquette

Modest clothing is mandatory at all temples — shoulders and knees must be covered. Carry a dupatta or shawl.
Remove footwear before entering all temples. Carry a bag for shoes or use temple cloakrooms where available.
Photography is restricted inside many temples — always check before taking photographs at shrines.
Arrive early at Khatu Shyam Ji and Salasar Balaji to avoid peak crowd times, especially on Ekadashi and festivals.
Pushkar Lake ghat rituals are conducted by local priests — agree on dakshina amount before the puja begins.

Climate & Clothing

Rajasthan is warm year-round. Carry light cotton clothing, sunscreen, and a hat for daytime sightseeing.
Evenings in Pushkar can be cooler, especially in winter months — carry a light jacket.
Comfortable walking footwear is recommended as most temples involve steps and paved pathways.

Jaipur to Pushkar: approx. 145 km / 2.5 hours. Sedan and Ertiga vehicles do not have a luggage carrier — travel light.
